about bod trentham

The third bod café bar we opened is bod Trentham and was formerly a NatWest bank. The warm inviting surroundings create the ideal location daytime or evening. With different menus available through the day, we have a range of dishes available including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. We have a little bod menu for smaller appetites with highchairs if required. We are very dog friendly. We think it’s the ideal location for all the family to come together.

Originally a super brew of Steerage, now with late and fermenting vessel addition of Summit hops for amazing aroma.
Back in the days when ales were dark and lagers were light, we created White Star. In the early nineties, you’d be hard pressed to find a golden ale. We saw the gap and launched White Star – a crisp, golden ale with distinctive fruit tastes. It was an instant favourite. Since then, we’ve changed little. In a clear “don’t fix it if it ain’t broken” way, we’ve subtly fine-tuned the combination of hops adding new American and Slovenian varieties to enhance its distinctive flavour. Overall though, White Star remains remarkably true to its roots. That’s good as people who know White Star swear by White Star.

TASTING NOTE: A distinctive golden hoppy yet crisp ale with fruit tastes on the palate and scent.
Allergen Advice: this beer contains barley & wheat.

White star has won several beer awards including Gold in the premium bitter category in 2003 from CAMRA champion beer of the West Midlands, Gold in the premium bitter category in 2004 for CAMRA West Midlands beer of the year and Bronze in the premium bitter category in 2005 and 2006 for CAMRA West Midlands beer of the year
